1. Who we are
One Percent Edge AI is a UK-based business operating the 1% Better mobile and web application. You can contact us at hello@onepercentedgeai.com.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, authentication provider identifiers.
- Profile data: optional details such as time zone, focus areas and preferences.
- Journal entries: the reflections, notes and check-ins you write inside the app.
- Goals & habits: goals, milestones, habits, streaks, completion data and commitments you make.
- AI memory: structured facts the AI remembers about you to provide continuity (e.g. your goals, patterns, preferences and stated context).
- Accountability data: check-ins, weekly and monthly reviews, board-meeting notes and accountability reports.
- Usage analytics: events such as feature use, screen views, session length and crash reports.
- Billing data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We store subscription status but not full card numbers.
- Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, operating system, language.
3. How we use your data and our legal basis
- To provide the service — performance of a contract (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To personalise AI responses using your journals, goals and memory — performance of a contract and your consent where required.
- To send service emails (receipts, security alerts, account notifications) — performance of a contract.
- To send marketing emails — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To improve the product, fix bugs and prevent abuse — our legitimate interests.
- To meet legal, tax and regulatory obligations — legal obligation.
4. We do not sell your data
We do not, and will never, sell, rent or trade your personal data to advertisers, data brokers or any third party. We do not share your data for cross-context behavioural advertising. Your journals, goals, habits and AI memory are yours — we only process them to deliver the service to you.
5. Use of your content to train AI
We do not use your journals, goals, habits or AI memory to train third-party foundation models. Your private content is processed only to deliver responses to you. Aggregated, fully anonymised statistics may be used to improve our own product.
6. Who we share data with (processors)
We use the following categories of third-party processors. The current list is below and may be updated from time to time; the live list is always available on request.
- Hosting, database, authentication and file storage — Lovable Cloud (powered by Supabase, EU/UK region) for application hosting, our Postgres database, user authentication and encrypted object storage.
- AI model providers used to generate AI coach responses — Lovable AI Gateway, which routes requests to Google (Gemini), OpenAI (GPT) and Anthropic (Claude) models under data-processing agreements. Inputs are not used by these providers to train their foundation models.
- Payment processors — Stripe Payments UK, Ltd. (for card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link and similar). We do not store full card numbers; Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.
- Email delivery — Lovable Emails (powered by AWS SES) for transactional email (account, billing, password reset and service notifications) sent from
notify.onepercentedgeai.com. Marketing email is sent only with your separate consent. - Customer support — emails sent to
hello@onepercentedgeai.comare received and processed in our support inbox. - Authorities, where required by law.

7. International transfers
Some processors are based outside the UK. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK we rely on UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum, together with appropriate technical safeguards.
8. Retention
- Account, journals, goals, habits, AI memory: for as long as your account is active.
- Inactive accounts: may be deleted after 24 months of inactivity following a warning email.
- Billing records: retained for 7 years to meet HMRC requirements.
- Server logs: 30–90 days.
- Backups: rolling backups deleted within 35 days.
9. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port and object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. See our GDPR Data Rights page for how to exercise these rights. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
10. Data deletion
You can delete your account from inside the app, or by emailing hello@onepercentedgeai.com. We will erase or fully anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain records.
11. Children
1% Better is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. The "Last updated" date below reflects the current version.
